Production Background & Fun Facts: NS404 (Provenance) is a prequel derivation of a 20 minute long music video concept for local Tampa band catalyst: all of whom held critical roles in the film's production crew and even appeared onscreen. Production spanned 2+ years, consisted of nearly 25 separate locations (including two in northern Georgia), and over 40 cast members. We wanted to truly raise the bar on what was possible for low-budget filmmaking. In doing so we sought not only to showcase Tampa film and Florida in the process, but create a film that broke free of typical genre cliches, stand in solidarity with the "women in film" movement by appointing a female director (as well as other critical production roles held by females), and last but not least, tell a truly compelling story that is designed to make its audience think about humanity's trajectory into an unknown future.
