Synopsis: (Documentary, Experimental, City poem) Sarasota Half in Dream is a Surrealist documentary about secrets and mischief in a subtropical city. A series of expeditions into the abandoned golf courses, factories, and resorts of Sarasota, Florida leads to surprise encounters with local youths who are using them for new and strange purposes. What do bored teenagers do for fun when their whole town is arrayed against them? What goes on in a storage unit in the dead of night? What is the afterlife of a decommissioned train car? What ghosts haunt a ruined hotel? What is the life cycle of a city? When will waters wash it all away? Cast: Narration By: Derek Murphy

Production Background & Fun Facts: The younger residents of Sarasota know that the older generations would prefer they stay at home, and they know that their town is slowly sinking into the ocean. Among this overwhelming mistrust and decay, they manage to find an almost spiritual beauty in the margins of the city. This film was made to tell their story.
